when using cushions to build highways, there is a difference in how far a player can reach for the next cushion depending on game mode.
For horizontal travel:
In creative cushions can be up to 5 blocks apart and can still be clicked to move to the next cushion.
In survival, when seated on a cushion you can place a cushion up to 4 blocks away, but can only click a cushion to move to it if it is 3 blocks away.
For vertical travel:
In creative cushions can be 6 blocks apart, but in survival they can be at most 4 blocks apart. I assume player height adds the additional block worth of reach
This difference happens even when the game mode is changed with commands.
