Pillagers can aim at players in Creative mode

Description:

Summary
When a player in Creative mode enters a minecraft:pillager's detection range, the pillager does not attack (it does not fire any projectiles and does not perform any attack wind-up), but it still rotates its body and head to face the player and continuously tracks the player’s movement. This suggests that the pillager’s targeting or rotation-tracking logic does not properly filter out Creative mode players – even though the actual attack action is correctly blocked.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch Minecraft (Java Edition) in singleplayer or multiplayer with cheats enabled.

  2. Switch to Creative mode (/gamemode creative @s).

  3. Spawn a pillager (/summon minecraft:pillager ~ ~ ~) or find a naturally generated pillager.

  4. Approach the pillager until you are within its detection range (approximately 16–32 blocks).

  5. Observe the pillager’s behavior.

Observed Behavior:

  • The pillager turns its body and head toward the player and keeps rotating to track the player as they move, effectively aiming its facing direction at the player.

  • However, the pillager does not raise its crossbow; the crossbow remains in its lowered/idle state, with no pull-back animation, no charging, and no activation of the crossbow.

  • The pillager never fires any arrows or deals any damage – this part is correct for Creative mode.

  • Nevertheless, the pillager consistently treats the player as a "target" for its facing/orientation tracking, even though Creative players should be completely ignored.

Expected Behavior:

  • Since Creative mode players are not valid targets for hostile mobs, the pillager should not "aim" at the player in any way, including not rotating its body or head toward the player. It should remain idle and only react to valid targets (e.g., Survival players, villagers, iron golems).

  • The tracking/orientation logic should be consistent with the attack logic: both should skip Creative players entirely, rather than just skipping the attack action.

    Attachments / Notes:

    • Tested in Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 snapshot 5 (also reproducible in 1.20.x and 1.19.x or other version).

    • This affects both naturally spawned pillagers and those summoned with commands.

    • In multiplayer games, other players should also be able to see the raider staring at the creative mode player, although this has not yet been tested.

I think this is related to the previous bug where mobs would attack players in Creative mode. Although that bug has been fixed, Pillagers belong to the Illager category, so Mojang might have taken a shortcut and didn't fix the issue for Illagers.

In multiplayer (I'm using the Chinese edition of PE), Pillagers prioritize attacking players in Survival Mode.
