The tips of downward pointing sulfur spikes don't emit dust particles, unlike in Bedrock Edition

In Bedrock Edition, the tips of downward pointing sulfur spikes occasionally emit gray dust particles. This doesn’t happen at all in Java Edition.

How to reproduce:

  • In Bedrock Edition, place some sulfur spikes on the bottom side of some blocks.

  • Note how the tips occasionally emit gray dust particles.

  • Repeat the first step in Java Edition.

  • Note how no particles are emitted.
