Mojang's Unannounced IME Candidate Window Lacks Page-Turning, Emoji, and Other Features

From 26.3 Snapshot 6 onward, the IME candidate window in the game is no longer the one from my Microsoft Pinyin input method, but instead a custom IME candidate window drawn by Mojang itself. However, Mojang’s own IME candidate window was never mentioned in any changelog, and compared to the Windows system input method, it lacks page-turning functionality, because there are often more than seven candidate words and users need to turn to the next page to see additional options. It also lacks emoji functionality and other features. These issues have persisted all the way through 26.3 Snapshot 9. Therefore, I believe Mojang should either remove its custom IME candidate window and restore the system’s native input method, or keep the custom IME candidate window but fully implement missing features such as page-turning and emoji support, and also properly document it in the changelog.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
