Description

In Minecraft Java Edition, this bug occurs when a novice villager’s artificial intelligence fails to clear its internal trade data after its workstation is removed. Under normal conditions, breaking a stonecutter should immediately erase a Mason's novice trades and reset them to an unemployed state. However, due to a breakdown in the server's pathfinding and validation loops, the villager becomes desynchronized from the physical world.

The villager's brain retains its old trading data in a frozen cache because it fails to process the block-destruction event. When the player replaces the stonecutter, the villager does not generate new, cycled trades. Instead, it simply reconnects to its stuck data cache and offers the exact same two items indefinitely, completely breaking the intended trade-cycling mechanic.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Locate an Unemployed Villager: Find a completely fresh, unemployed villager who has zero trading experience.

2. Assign the Profession: Place a stonecutter directly in front of the villager. Wait for the green particle effects to appear, confirming they have successfully become a Novice Mason.

3. Verify the Initial Trades: Open the villager's trading user interface to view their two initial novice trade offers. Do not trade with them. Close the user interface.

4. Isolate the Villager (Triggering the Bug): Place the villager into a standard 1x1 containment cell, or place them into a minecart or boat directly in front of the workstation.

5. Break the Workstation: Destroy the stonecutter. Observe that the villager may retain their Mason outfit and fail to immediately switch back to their unemployed clothes.

6. Replace the Workstation: Instantly place the stonecutter back down into the exact same spot.

7. Observe the Failure to Cycle: Open the trading user interface again. The villager will display the exact same two trades from Step 3, rather than cycling to a brand-new set of offers.
