Minecraft Java Edition experiences severe and persistent FPS degradation when moving around and/or turning the camera on a Windows PC using a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor with the integrated Qualcomm Adreno X1-45 GPU.
The game initially has substantially higher FPS while standing still, but after a brief freeze/stutter associated with movement/rendering, FPS drops significantly and remains lower. The issue occurs in vanilla Minecraft and is not specific to Fabric or a particular mod.
The issue has been reproduced across multiple Minecraft versions and with both Vulkan and OpenGL rendering.
Launch Minecraft Java Edition on a Windows PC with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor and integrated Adreno X1-45 GPU.
Use a vanilla or modded instance.
Create a singleplayer world or join a multiplayer one
Stand still and observe the FPS.
Move around the world and/or turn the camera into an area that has previously not been loaded.
A brief freeze/stutter occurs and performance subsequently drops significantly.
Continue moving/turning and observe that FPS remains substantially lower than the initial stationary FPS.
In a vanilla installation, approximate results were:
Renderer Vulkan standing still:~312 FPS after stutter/freeze:~100 FPS
Renderer: OpenGL standing still:~96 FPS after stutter/freeze:~30 FPS
