Been happening since 26.3 pre-1
Teleportation via commands has already been resetting player’s momentum, so putting this report here in case the new ender pearl behaviour is not intended and is a bug
Since 26.3 pre-release 1, upon teleportation when using an ender pearl, the existing momentum of the player is no longer preserved. See attached videos for comparison between 26.3 pre-3 (after) and 26.3 snapshot-10 (before). Also see in the video the behaviour of momentum when using command teleportation
Steps to reproduce:
Start off gaining momentum (such as falling, flying with an elytra)
Throw an ender pearl at a pillar of blocks (or catch the pearl with wind charge)
Before, the falling momentum was preserved; in 26.3 pre-1 onwards, the falling momentum is no longer preserved
If this is indeed a bug, the expected result would be the player momentum upon ender pearl teleportation is preserved (unless this is an intentional change)
Environment
M4 Pro MacBook Pro; Microsoft Java 25
