No enchantment glint

Short description of the issue
Enchantment glint (the animated shimmer overlay on enchanted items) does not render on any enchanted item, even on a completely fresh, unmodified vanilla installation with no resource packs, mods, or shaders installed. This also affects items that rely on the glint to be visually distinguishable, such as the enchanted golden apple, which is now indistinguishable from a regular golden apple.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Install a fresh instance of Minecraft Java Edition (version 26.3 or any other really), with no resource packs, mods, or shaders added.

  2. Create a new single-player world.

  3. Obtain an enchanted item (e.g. enchant a tool/weapon at an enchanting table, or use /enchant).

  4. Obtain an enchanted golden apple (e.g. via /give @s enchanted_golden_apple or from loot).

  5. View both items in inventory, held in hand, equipped (if armor), and dropped on the ground.

Expected result
Enchanted items display the standard animated enchantment glint overlay in all views (inventory slot, held, equipped, dropped). The enchanted golden apple in particular should be visually distinct from a regular golden apple due to the glint.

Actual result
No glint overlay renders in any view for any enchanted item. The enchanted golden apple is visually identical to a regular golden apple, with no way to tell them apart by appearance. Items still function correctly (correct tooltips, correct in-game effects) — only the visual glint is missing.

Environment

I'm playing on a pc running windows. I'm using the official minecraft launcher.

Is your Glint Strength (in Accessibility Settings) set to 0%? And if not, can you upload another screenshot of the issue with the debug overlay (F3) enabled and showing the game version and system specs?

This report will automatically reopen when you reply.
