Calibrated Sculk sensor responding inconsistently to cushions

I created a creative test world to have a calibrated sculk sensor trigger on page 6 of lectern filtering with a created book. Sitting on a cushion triggers the sculk sensor. I built the same object is a standard world with a Hard difficulty, and it now triggers on page 5 of a lectern filtering with a created book. Neither book is signed.
