Dropped items can’t crack brittle ice, unlike other entities.

Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.

I can reproduce this in 26.4 Snapshot 4.
Dropped items do not cause Brittle Ice to crack, even when resting directly on it. I also tested with a Creeper, which did cause the ice to crack, while a Frostbite did not, as expected.
