The Bug:
Mob projectiles that are ignited can light candles and candle cakes when the mob_griefing game rule is set to false.
When mob_griefing is off, a mob’s ignited projectile, for example, a blaze's fireball or a skeleton's flaming arrow, still lights candles and candle cakes. This issue doesn’t affect blocks like TNT or campfires, because those blocks correctly check the game rule first.
Steps to Reproduce:
Set the “mob_griefing” game rule to false by using the command provided below.
/gamerule mob_griefing falsePlace a large amount of candles all around you by using the command provided below.
/fill ~25 ~ ~25 ~-25 ~ ~-25 minecraft:candle[candles=4]Summon a bunch of blazes, switch to survival mode, and allow the blazes to shoot fireballs at you.
Dodge the fireballs so that some of them hit the candles and observe if the candles become lit.
Observed Behavior:
A mob’s projectile that’s on fire lights candles and candle cakes when the mob_griefing game rule is set to false.
Expected Behavior:
A mob’s projectile that’s on fire would not light candles or candle cakes when the mob_griefing game rule is set to false.
