Oak, birch, spruce, and jungle trees no longer convert the block below their trunks into dirt

The Bug:

Oak, birch, spruce, and jungle trees no longer convert the block below their trunks into dirt.

It appears that trees with straight trunks no longer replace the block below their trunks with dirt, while every other tree, such as acacia, cherry, and dark oak, still do. This means that, for example, spruce trees in groves now stand directly on snow blocks or powder snow. This issue also causes a bunch of block updates which can impact performance ever so slightly.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a stone floor by using the command provided below.

    /fill ~-6 ~-1 ~-2 ~6 ~-1 ~2 minecraft:stone
  2. Place an oak tree and an acacia tree by using the commands provided below.

    /place feature minecraft:oak ~-3 ~ ~
    /place feature minecraft:acacia ~3 ~ ~
  3. Break the bottom log of each tree.

  4. Observe if the stone below each trunk was converted into dirt.

Observed Behavior:

Oak, birch, spruce, and jungle trees no longer convert the block below their trunks into dirt.

Expected Behavior:

Oak, birch, spruce, and jungle trees would convert the block below their trunks into dirt.
