Cushions clipping/flickering through glas blocks and stairs

When facing and approaching cushions at more than 13 to 14 blocks out they clip through glass blocks or stairs. The issue is not present when viewing or approaching from an angle. Inside of 13 or 14 blocks the issue does not occur. I play modded minecraft and use sodium however the issue still occurs when I open my world in vanilla. To reproduce the issue place 3 to 4 cushions on top of a solid block and then place glass blocks on top of the cushions. Back away more than 13 or 14 blocks and then approach from the front. Cushions will clip through both glass blocks and stairs. Additionally place 3 to 4 cushions on top of stairs. The desired result is a solid line of colored cushions for decorative purposes. The actual result was clipping/flickering of the cushions through the glass blocks and/or stairs.
