If you set a custom resolution for your monitor, then set Minecraft to be full screen with f11 or in the video settings, the screen glitches out and the transition is less smooth than before.
Environment
NVIDIA GPU laptop display mode, laptop native resolution is 2880x1800, I have used NVIDIA Control Panel to set it to 2880x1620
