What I expected to happen was for the shaders to work.
What actually happened was it just played the sound but nothing else happened.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open minecraft on Mac OSX (10.6 or higher)
2. Open options menu
3. Press "Super Secret Settings"

Seems this bug may be fixed for windows computers but not for mac.
