Zombie can't attack if is inside a block of sugarcane

I saw a zombie, but he didn't came to attack me until I attacked it (removing the zombie from the sugarcane block).

Seems related to MC-3282 (mobs having problem with transparent blocks).

Also sounds like the behaviour mobs exhibit when in a vine.

This ticket has been marked as a duplicate of MC-3626 , in favor of the better description/information provided.
