Crash while placing netherrack outside portal

Multiplayer on local LAN, 3 players. My client crashed while two of us were in Nether. I was plugging some holes in the ground and other player was building a shelter. There was a ghast nearby. Got kicked out of the game and unable to get back in. Other player eventually also crashed and was unable to get back in. Crash report attached.
