I started a new world and i wanted to have a bonus chest. at first i thought i forget it. so i started over. i could not find it directly bihinde me any more so i dug around me maybe it was in the ground. but no. so i tried creative and a flat world. also no bonus chest.

Sometimes they spawn in leaves, and explode, mainly in jungles, so this may be the bug.
