[MC-37288] Dark Oak never grows up

Hello,
I wanted to see the new "Dark Oak" tree when I updated Minecraft, so I took Dark Oak Sapling and placed it on a dirt, then I took some Bonemeal and started to click on the sapling, but it didn't do anything. I clicked on it at least 40 times, but it didn't grow up... I also used some dispensers, but it still didn't do anything...
If it must be 4x4 saplings, why it consumes the bonemeal?

Dark Oak is a 2x2 tree.

Correct, dark oak is not supposed to grow from a single sapling. They must be placed 2x2 like you would to get a giant jungle tree or the new giant spruce.
