Tell Raw Command @p/@a/@r Does not work

When trying to use the tell raw command, if you use the command:
tellraw @a {"text":"Red Team: @a[team=Red]","color":"red"}
You would expect it to work in generally the same fashion by listing all of the players on the Red Team. This still works with the say command, but if you use the §4 color code with a /say command, it now only works on the first word making it impossible to do this(MC-33145). The Tell raw command is very useful as it makes coloring text very easy, but without the @p functionality, we have to go back to the broken /say command which makes our custom maps not as good as they could be. Please look into this.
