World Save hangs game in Linux

(none of this will work in Windows, i have even tried with the same version on another computer that is the exact same model, except running windows)
1. Start a game (doesnt matter, creative or survival)
2. Every so often, the game will hang for around 10 seconds (confirmed in Linux, but not on windows on the same model of computer).
*important note: the hang is the same length of time each time, indicating a bug

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt) here.

Please attach the complete output of the "Development console" tab of the launcher.

  • Click the text, press CTRL-A to select all, then CTRL-C to copy, and CTRL-V to paste in a comment on this ticket.

If the launcher closes after game start, please edit your profile and select "Launcher visibility" then, "Keep the launcher open".

each time it does this, it does it for the exact same period of time, and then my screen flashes. but it does not do this in windows

here is a screenshot i managed to take of what was going on while it was happening

I forgot to post this earlier, but I am unable to reproduce this.

OpenGL: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RS880 GL version 2.1 Mesa 9.0.3, X.Org

Install the AMD driver, probably http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=Legacy2&os=Linux%20x86

that AMD driver actually destroyed my OS. i actually had to reinstall ubuntu.

this bug happens every time i have my inventory open and the world saves. i think it should really be looked at.

this seems to have been solved by allocating more memory (2 GB's in my case)
