the game to start

It crashes when when I click the play button
Steps to Reproduce:
1. download the launcher
2. install updates
3. get latest java
4. get latest drivers
5. click play button
6. game crashes before menu

OS: Windows XP (ver 5.1, arch x86)
Java: 1.7.0_45 (by Oracle Corporation)
Launcher: Minecraft Launcher 1.3.1 (bootstrap 5)
Minecraft: 1.7.2 (updated Fri Oct 25 15:00:00 CEST 2013)
