I was having fun with anvils when I was dropping very damaged anvils and when it was falling I saw no cracks.

That is a problem caused by the falling anvil being an entity.
Duplicate of MC-1298. Please check before posting in the future. Note that affected version and labels of the other issue have now been updated.
