[MC-3970] Crashes When Loggin On

I am able to log onto my Minecraft account, but every time I try to log onto a server or one of my singleplayer worlds, my Minecraft crashes. I do not have any mods or texturepacks installed, so I do not know what could be wrong.

Have you tried a clean minecraft install? (be sure to backup your files first)

This looks like you have a class missing in your minecraft.jar.

Simply redownload minecraft. Launcher -> Options -> Force update and start as normal.

I have tried redownloading Minecraft multiple times and it still is not working. If I am missing a class, how could I get a replacement for it?

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
