First, that's simply how Minecraft works. Most blocks aren't affected by gravity. Stack up a few blocks, then pull the bottom one out – the rest will just float there. Sand and gravel are the main exceptions.
Second, this is the Minecraft Launcher project, not the Minecraft project. It's only for issues affecting the launcher, the program used to start the game, and not the game itself.
