Massive sheep spawning around missing chunk

I have no idea of wth is happening in my world. i've been playing in this particular world since the public 1.7 and it has been pretty much weird, like a lot of hostile mobs during mid day, no passive mobs spawning and a huge missing chunk. All of this in a roofed forest biome. Do any of you have the same issue?
