When receiving a JSON message, such as {"text" :"test\ntest"}, it appears that the client cannot handle the newline. CR along with LF both produce their respective unknown character box(not sure of the name). http://prntscr.com/23tg34 is an example of this bug. 1.6.4 and previous versions handled newlines perfectly.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.7.4 / Launcher version 1.3.7 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
