Mac crashes after minecraft window expansion.

My mac crashes everytime I try to expand my minecraft out a little bit. I already looked at other threads about this issue and changing my options.txt to fullscreen false does not help because I don't use fullscreen. I play at the normals minecraft window but I always liked playing with the window being a little bigger but ever since I can remember everytime I try to expand it just a little bit my entire computer crashes and restarts.
