This is a graphical glitch that appears when viewing the player icon in the creative inventory in 1.7.4. Upon testing it seems to occur in less than 10% of play sessions. The planes and transparencies of the player icon appear to be inverted (see attached image). This is resolved upon closing and restarting the game.

Have you turned on any of the shaders (super secret settings button)? This sounds like MC-31818.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 14w11b or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. - bot
