Indirectly this report seems to be a continuation of https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-41732
But the reporter hasn't claimed about the issue I'm claiming here and his ticket is already closed.
If Advanced OpenGL is activated and fast movements are done (for example flying up in a flat world and turning around) you can see how Chunks are still affected by OpenGL because they are invisible (an example screenshot is in the attachments). The difference to https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-3998 is that the Chunks are still loading automatically afterwards.
The goal should be that with Advanced OpenGL the player should never see that a chunk is affected by it.

Yes, Advanced OpenGL only renders what you can see. That can cause issues like that. As far as I know, Advanced OpenGL is only supposed to give lower-end machines a small FPS boost. So normally, the render distance wouldn't be that far.
I'm not going to close it at the moment though.
