Crash with receiving packet 56 when using high IDs for blocks

When using the 4096 block id in multiplayer, client crash due to an unused value when reading packet 56
The "Add bit map" which say if a chunk section (16x16x16) must use or not the "Add" section

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

No answer on querry, assuming not an issue anymore.
