[MC-44424] /clear @p not working

Upon typing /clear @p diamond 0 64
or /clear @p minecraft:diamond 0 64
In a command block or directly in chat.

Chat outputs 'Could not clear the inventory of Osky2918, no items to remove.

However if I use my IGN instead of @p like this:
/clear Osky2918 diamond 0 64
or /clear Osky2918 minecraft:diamond 0 64
It works perfectly fine.

Cannot confirm, command is clearing as designed.

/clear @p minecraft:diamond 0 64

What!? I did this like ten times.
And I saw it as well on SethBlings snapshot video.
I guess I have to try again tomorrow and maybe be more specific about my setup.

OK so the command works, however the specifics of the command do not work. For example if a player has 64 diamond you can't clear 32 of them, it always clears them all. Apparently this bug and another related is known to the devs. Little different than what you explained, but yes it is not functioning correctly.
