I tied 2 horses up to separate fence posts, and went away. Upon returning, neither horse was attached to their fence, and their leads were on the ground, and both horses were near the fence, so it was not because the lead broke.

Pretty sure I searched for "Horses detaching from leads"

This is not a duplicate of https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-14826
One describes a lead breaking, allowing the animal to wander free, and the lead to despawn.
The other describes a graphical glitch in which the lead is still attached and effective, but not visible.
The reason there are so many "duplicate" reports relating to leads is that you are flagging them all as the second, when most are trying to report the first.
Leads breaking is still an issue as of 1.7.4.

@Paw, I mark is as a duplicate because the description of that report mentions both behaviours. Should one be fixed and not another, please leave a comment here and I will re-open this report.

The thing is, the other one is about the leads becoming invisible, and it says in the description " they still acted like there was a leash but the visual leash was gone" in mine, the leash broke, and was on the ground as an item, and the horses were able to wander away. This was on a Singleplayer world, so it was not other players. I don't mean to be a nuisance, but this is annoying when Dinnerbone is always tweeting about how we should report bugs, and then I report a bug, and it gets incorrectly counted as a duplicate.

I added a picture of what it looked like

I started a report on this also, and it was also flagged as a Duplicate of the same report. Very frustrating.
They've indicated that because the other issue is mentioned in the comments below, this counts?
If I were a dev looking for bugs to fix, reading the actual Report section would lead me to mark this as a low priority, as it just details a Graphical Glitch.
Not a fault which leads to, say, losing that epic horse you spent ages breeding - and the uncraftable Diamond armour it was wearing.
