my map takes a long time to load. when it finally does load the map has holes in it. by this i mean there are black parts of the map. certain areas would not load in to the game. i do not have any mods in the game. i do not have any texture packs

Well I have to say this is one of the more extreme cases I have seen...
Are you generating a new map or is this one you have been playing on for a while?

I have been working on this world for some time. I started it when the loader was 1.3.1 and the minecraft was 1.7.2. This started shortly after 1.7.4. That is not the only spot in the world that is like that.
