No brown chat color/server protocol

This isn't persay an issue/bug.. but I think that it would really help many things if Minecraft added some sort of system to get the color brown into chat or server protocol. They have practically every other color except for brown, and even multiple variations of the same color.

Sorry if I had wasted your time or seemed ignorant, it's just that this issue is of relevance to me while it might not be to others.

Vanilla Minecraft client/server cannot do coloured chat.

Drew Mitchell

Well, yes, there is no brown chat color, but the vanilla client can do chat color by using the section symbol followed by a-f, k-o, or 0-9. I'm just asking if it's possible to add a color code for brown into the protocol.

kumasasa

There is no way to enter § in the chat.

Drew Mitchell

While that is true, it exists in the vanilla server protocol and can be edited in using a third party software. I'm just saying that this already existing protocol is missing brown, or a shade of it while it has most every color already programmed.

I don't think that this is invalid, I just think that you think that it is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that it exists in the vanilla source (even though it may not be able to be used easily in vanilla). For example, you can paste the section symbol into a written book and it will work. I think that this has validity and should be of at least some priority.

Section symbol is legacy.
