Baby chickens cannot fit inside of 1/2 block spaces.
(They cannot escape through a half-block space. If they are situated in the same block as an upside-down half-slab, they will behave as if they are inside of it. If they are situated on top of a right-side-up half-slab with a solid block above, they will suffocate.)

This applies to baby cows as well, so even though I have not tested it I would guess the hitboxes of all baby animals are wrong. The baby cows can actually be pushed under a 1 block high space, although they will suffocate in the block above. In snapshot 14w07a.
I also noticed this in the Nether in 14w06b. When the Bbay Zombie Pigman was trying to jump up on the path I made in the nether, and there was a block diagonal to to path (indirectly), it started to suffocate when it was right under the block
This will break automatic chicken farms.
