One of my pistons are dissapearing

I have a automatic piston sugar cane farm and a piston pushes up a block of sand and it will work over time but after a while only the piston that pushes up the block of sand disappears but all the others are fine. I cannot recreate it exactly and find a cause and so the screenshots are not in order or timed correctly.
