Please provide the exact command you used.

Cannot reproduce and incomplete without the command.

/particle [Particle Name] ~ ~ ~ 1 0 1 50 50

It works fine for me, you just have to turn on particles in video settings.

I do have the same problem. When I execute /particle hugeexplosion ~ ~ ~ 10 10 10 1 100 in 14w17a is see explosion particles like normal, but in 14w18a nothing happens. I do indeed have my particle settings on 'all'.

I'm on windows 8, Java version 7 update 55. Please reopen.
