When testing the new 1.4.6 Version there were no sounds in the menu at all!

Unable to reproduce either.
BTW: The only sound in the menus is a "click"
Have you updated minecraft or new installed? If you installed minecraft new, you have to wait until the sound is downloaded.
Unable to reproduce, are you sure your sound is turned on?
