Redstone on (top)slabs doesn't transfer current when slabs on different heights

In previous versions the top of the slabs could transfer redstone current.
Now it still can, though only while they're on the same heigh, once the heigh varies it doesn't transfer the current anymore.
Double slabs do transfer redstone current.
