Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put lead on horse.
2. Put lead on fence post.
3. Click on fence post to get lead back and free animal.
Expected Result:
Lead should pop off the animal and drop on the ground. Animal should also be free to move around.
Actual Result:
Animal stays on lead. Lead does not pop off.
Reproduction Rate:
100%
Note:
If you break the fence post the lead sometimes will linger on the spot where the post is before lead drops on the ground. Also there's a glitch about the lead graphic on the post disappearing with certain angles.

I can confirm this. The only way to recover the lead was to break the fence.
Also I when I attach the lead to the fence I don't see it wrapped around the post. The lead goes from the horse to just above the fence post. Posted an image of this.
Bug is still present in 14w17a, its not just a visual bug but also a functional. Can't detach the lead.
There might be a change in how to reproduce it, the lead on the fence is only visible when standing north or west from the fence and facing towards it otherwise not. It isn't removable in all cases since there is no hit box for the knot and only sees the fence.
Issue still present in 14w19a.
I have to break the fence and wait about 2-3 seconds for the lead to drop.
In fact a duplicate of MC-50275
From left to right: Picture 1 shows an angle where the lead graphic is gone on the fence post. Picture 2 shows the same post and the lead graphic is back. Picture 3 shows no fence post but lead still attached to animal.
