leads not shown on fence

i pu my horse with a lead on a fence and the lelad disapeared after some time and the only way to get my horse of the fence ist to break the fence.

What I expected to happen was that after some time when i needed my horse i could disconnect the lead from the fence by clicking my right mouse button just like in version 1.7.2

What actually happened was when i got back to my horse the lead had disapearded and i needed to break the fence to use my horse and get the lead back

1. play on a server
2. get a horse or an other animal on a lead
3. put the lead on the fence
4. wait for some time / walk against the fence / get the chunk unloaded
5. suddenly the lead has disapeared
