[MC-51653] Increasing map size crashes the game

When I increase the map size (surrounding a map with paper in a crafting table) the map seems to not increase at all. And also in 1.7.4 if you increase the map enough, It crashes the game.

Yes finally someone with the same map issues as me.. So the map does increase in size by 5 technically. IE x0 x1 x2 x3 x4 now, i found so far on Version 1.0 Windows 10 MC you can use x0 maps fine, but when you try to use a x2 (not sure about x1) it will crash the Realm your on! x3 maps however just worked for me so im not sure why its even happening

Interesting. Maps have bugs on MCPE Realms too, but there, the z=1, z=3, and z=4 stay blank (unknown center?) and all maps at z2 recenter to (0,0) instead of their proper place on the grid.
