Same happens to me on Windows XP

@CraftyMiner, this issue is specifically Linux related. If you are having issues, I suggest you visit the Mojang Support Center.
This issue cannot be resolved by Mojang, as the issue lies within either your graphics drivers, your desktop manager, and/or the LWJGL libraries that Minecraft uses.
