I just got onto my minecraft and all of my chests were empty and the picture frames that were on te wall above each chest was on the floor, just lost months of play from this not sure how to fix.

I did not but my son logged me out of Minecraft and logged in to his Minecraft on my compute I am not sure what else he may have done is there a fix for this?
Your issue is probably MC-45009.
Did you downgrade from one of the 1.8 snapshots?
