Heads only display right when placed as a block

I downloaded 14w11b recently. I looked at my special mobs with their own head from me. Their heads were just Steve ones. This happened temporarily in a past snapshot, so I restarted Minecraft. It still had the Steve heads on them. You can duplicate this bug by putting a head on yourself, too. That's another thing. Heads only properly display when placed as a block.
