fire spread spreads formo smoke. the smoke goes out one block causing fireplaces to burn. this may not be a bug but something added that i really dont like

Working as intended, fire is supposed to spread to burnable materials.

Either build the area around your fireplace out of unburnable materials or disable the spreadig of fire with the command

/gamerule doFireTick false
