So I was logging in to my minecraft game, then go to my world on single player, but when I went to my world all of my things were missing. Everything in my chest, inventory, all of it gone. Could you guys get me my stuff back?

Just go into your "saves" folder and copy the folder that belongs to the world and paste it somewhere. When something goes wrong in the original, you can put the copy back in the "saves" folder and continue playing. The copy won't update itself, so you need to update it manually (making a new copy). And no, your items are lost, but you could give yourself the items with the give command or by using creative mode.
So I can't get my stuff back, right? And to be careful next time, how does one back up their world?
