[MC-53167] I lost items after downgrading to an older version

when i logged in using the new minecraft 1.7.9 update i went in my world all my item frames and paintings were all over my floor and the stuff from inside the item frames were gone and also i went to look in all of my chests and all my stuff was gone including the armor on my back. if mojang does not fix this i will never play minecraft or any other mojang games again

I had the same issue believe it to be related to the latest Java update I was able to solve this by uninstalling java and re-installing it a bunch of times.. OS here was Windows 7.. If I uninstalled java and re installed using the old java version everything worked fine...

This is your own fault Christopher, the mods have said many times that downgrading may have undesired behavior, don't blame Mojang for this.

I've read several of these lately and people seem to be saying that going from 1.7.5 to 1.7.9 is doing this as well (i.e. not downgrading). However What Loren said is possibly a good cause.
