exit code 255; Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working; game crashes when walking into certain areas of the nether

I've only seen this happen on one of my worlds, but that is almost the only one I ever play on anyway. Whenever I walk into certain areas (I assume it's by chunk) in the nether, the game will crash. It says, "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working," and it says it uses exit code 255 in the development console tab of the launcher. It also says something about being behind and unable to catch up, and about being unable to delete the natives file/folder.

Here is the specific information given in the development console:

[02:09:50 INFO]: Client> [02:09:50] [Server thread/INFO]: Rek_Colyks joined the game
[02:09:51 INFO]: Client> [02:09:51] [Server thread/INFO]: Changing view distance to 12, from 10
[02:09:51 INFO]: Client> [02:09:51] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2100ms behind, skipping 42 tick(s)
[02:10:48 ERROR]: Game ended with bad state (exit code 255)
[02:10:48 INFO]: Deleting C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.7.9\1.7.9-natives-126991181098526
[02:10:48 INFO]: Ignoring visibility rule and showing launcher due to a game crash
[02:10:48 WARN]: Couldn't delete C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.7.9\1.7.9-natives-126991181098526 - scheduling for deletion upon exit

Ocassionally, I can do something to go into the area without a crash, such as giving the game plenty of time to make sure everything is loaded, or rushing into the area before the area has had much time to load at all, but I haven't really found a pattern for getting past the crash. Originally, it was just one area that I couldn't enter, but now there are at least three. Whenever a new place is corrupted, it seems that there is a ghast nearby that is trying to attack me, so I wonder if it has to do with the appearance of the ghast or with their fireballs. Usually, I just try to avoid the affected areas since I can usually reload the world and I will be outside of the area. However, now and once previously, I find that I reload with my character in the corrupted area, so the game crashes within a second of loading the world.

My current coordinates are (38, 84, -474), and the seed is 2037987288545104833.

I don't know if the bug could be recreated, even with the coordinates and seed though; the land generated by the seed has changed since I made the world, so the land you would get from recreating the world now would be partially different from what I have. There's also the theory with the ghasts.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. I would really like it if the problem could be fixed at its source, but my primary concern is saving my world, since I've put a lot of work into it.

Thank you. God bless y'all.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.

I can't force it to crash; it crashes on its own in a second, so I don't have the ten seconds I need. I've been trying to start the world, move my character a bit, and save and quit so that I can get out of the area over time, but I haven't made much progress.

While I don't get enough time in-game to force a crash, these are past crash reports that may be helpful.

Your Java version is _ancient! Please update your Java to the latest version (1.7.0_55 / 1.8.0_05): http://www.java.com/en/download/.

  • When using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit operating system the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.

Your Graphics drivers are ancient . Install this one http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/73784

If all that won't help, please use the Mojang Support Center.

Thank you very much! That fixed it.

God bless you.
